The module Computer Applications is a module for us to learn how to use 3D model making software.
The project 01 for Computer Application is to create the form of a selected building by us and to allow us to learn how to use the basics of 3DS MAX program.
Project 01 Work In Progress
Trace from Plan/Elevation
Make all orthographic into individual layers.
Import the Autodesk file into 3DS MAX
Rotate the drawings to fit its position on the plan. ( white plan = first floor plan )
Extrude a floor slab from the plan.
Extrude walls from Elevation attaching the boxes for window and doors to create void of space for them.
Build all 4 walls.
Extrude the interior ground floor walls from plan
Place the first floor plan to the correct spot and extrude the first floor slab with void for staircase.
Extrude the first floor walls.
Equip the house with window frames and roof.
Extrude the exterior platform.
Added staircase and with its structure.
Create the added structure from the elevation and first floor plan, then place it on the correct spot based on the first floor plan.
Extrude all the fences for exterior of ground floor and added structure, in their individual layer thus each of them is extruded once for all.
Equip the building with pivot door and glass window.
glass window created by material setup.
Project 01 Perspectives.
Project 02 A - Material and site context
The project 2A is an exercise for us to earn on how to insert material to the 3D model and also the site context, at the end we are required to produce 2 rendered perspective (whether bird-eye view or human eye view).
WORK IN PROGRESS
Insert the material downloaded from the internet to the Compact Material Editor, then put it onto the desired part of the building.
To make the material looks more realistic, the original image is put to Photoshop to desaturate it and adjusted it's level of color.
The photoshopped desaturated image is added to the BUMP under the MAPS category in the Material Editor.
Sometimes the tiles are not in the correct arrangement on the building, thus UVW MAP modifier is used to change the appearance of it.
Import the 3D model downloaded and apply materials to it.
Added with an Free Camera on the perspective i wanted to show.
The height of the camera from the ground is set to 1500mm to create an human eye view.
Added Mental Ray Daylight to the file.
When everything is done, render in the camera view that I've set.
Photoshop a background to the rendered image to make it look more realistic.
Final Product
Project 2B- Interior Perspectives
The project 2B of computer applications is to let us learn about creating interior perspectives using 3D max.
Work in Progress
Using EDIT MESH to select the interior surface and apply material for interior wall/different surface of an object.
Import 3D models downloaded from the internet.
Scale the models into desired size and material
Interior added with different objects to make it looks realistic and natural. (textiles and decorative components)
interior added with objects to make it looks realistic and natural. (indoor plants and kitchen utensils)
Target Camera added to the interior.
Free light inserted to the lamps to create interior lighting.
Render from the Camera view.
Final Product
Bedroom perspective
Living room-kitchen perspective
Project 03 Animated Video
This is a project teaching us how to create a video using 3DS MAX.
Work in Progress
Set the movement of camera using the AUTO KEY/SET KEY time frame setting
Create a path for the movement of camera
Attach camera to the path using PATH CONSTRAINT under motion tab
Add on more interiors of the building
Create path in the building
Set the movement of opening door by adjusting the % of opening of door from 0 - 100 to create an opening motion
Render the video in 840x600 in AVI file format
Edit the rendered video using Adobe After Effects and then upload it to Youtube.
