The first project of Building Construction is an introduction for us to this field. We are separated in groups of 8, exploring construction sites and thus acquiring information on how they build it. The site that we are required to find is limited to 4-story height houses or shop lots.
The objectives of this project are as follows:
To introduce basic principles and procedures of construction process through real life project (experiential learning)
To understand the sequence and coordination of construction at site
To expose students to construction technology/methods responding to site context
To allow student to demonstrate their understanding and knowledge of construction, material and technology
To train students to produce manual sketches, drawings and detailing relating to EXISTING construction.
Learning Outcomes of this Project
Produce a complete documentation (pictures, sketches and drawing) and analysis of construction
elements
Understand and explain construction elements and its components.
Understand current construction technology on local construction sites
Explain current material and technology in relevance to present construction industry
Submission Requirement
A3 bound report complete with visuals, sketches and manual drawings inclusive of the detailing and documentation of your project.

Our site is a constructing shop lot located in Banting which is approximately 45 minutes driving distance from our campus. We drove all the way to the site and thus interviewing Mr Yap for more details of the site construction progress which is in few phrases from foundation to making of roof.
