Project Title

Precedent Studies

The project is divided into two parts: group and individual.

In a group of 5, we are given a building of master architect during the 20th century and carry out a case study about it. With all the information we gathered, then we have to produce an A2 presentation board with the building's architectural analysis.

INDIVIDUAL

The individual part of this project requires us to write a comparison essay between the building we studied and another building from other master architect. We are required to choose a theme to compare both building.

The building that I've chosen to compare is Robie House-Frank Lloyd Wright and Farnsworth House-Mies Van Der Rohe.

Reflection

This project is somehow related to the first project of Studio 2 as our building on studio 2 is also about the Robie House. Hence, the analysis on both project had gave me a stronger understanding about the Robie House and let me know more about it. In this project, i've learnt to carry out analysis about the building and the architect, what his design is about and others. 

In architecture culture and history, I've learn not only what their buildings were, I've tried to understand how their mind was thinking when designing something, how do they do to create something from an idea of their mind.
